Interdepartmental Equipment Unit

The Interdepartmental Equipment Unit (IEU) serves as a central infrastructure within the Felsenstein Medical Research Institute. The unit consolidates advanced and high-value scientific systems under one roof, making them available to all Center researchers — research laboratories, students, and physician-researchers — through a shared-use model.

This approach enables every research group to benefit from innovative technology without bearing the individual cost of purchasing and maintaining each instrument separately, while promoting multidisciplinary research and knowledge sharing among laboratories.

The unit's team accompanies researchers at every stage of their work — from training and instruction on instrument operation, through experiment planning and protocol optimization, to results analysis — while maintaining rigorous calibration, maintenance, and ongoing quality control.
