Gene Pulser Xcell™ Electroporation System

The Gene Pulser Xcell is a modular, capacitor-based pulse generator used for cell electroporation — introducing DNA, RNA, or other molecules into cells using controlled electrical pulses. It delivers both exponential decay and square wave pulses, with output of up to 3,000 V (high-voltage circuit) and up to 500 V (low-voltage circuit), making it suitable for a wide range of cell types.

The system consists of a main unit plus two optional accessory modules: the CE Module, which extends capacitance for electroporation of eukaryotic cells (mammalian and plant) in low-resistance media, and the PC Module, which adds resistance control for bacteria and fungi and reduces the risk of arcing at high voltage. All modules connect to the main unit and are operated from a single front-panel interface, giving researchers precise, flexible control over their electroporation experiments.
