Felsenstein Family Reunion
The history of the Felsenstein Medical Research Center (FMRC) begins in World War II, when the twin brothers Basil and Gerald, Cecil Felsenstein — sons of Arthur and Tilly Felsenstein — lost their lives while serving in the Royal Air Force. Their place of burial was never known.
Basil and Gerald fought for a better world.
Their younger brother, Mr. Alan Fenton, together with his wife Priscilla, wished to establish a meaningful memorial to the twins — one that would reflect Basil and Gerald's struggle for humanity.
Believing that a medical research center benefiting Israel and the world's population would serve as a fitting tribute to his brothers, and would bear witness to their dream and faith in the future, Mr. Fenton supported the establishment of the Basil and Gerald Felsenstein Medical Research Center, whose cornerstone was laid in 1988.
A man of worldwide experience — being both an author and the founder of an international trading company — Mr. Fenton was involved in every decision, design, and construction phase of the FMRC. Thanks to his contribution, the establishment of the Medical Research Center was made possible. The location of the FMRC within Rabin Medical Center, a leading clinical campus, offers a unique opportunity for physicians and academic scientists to conduct leading clinical research in Israel.
