Sonicator
A sonicator uses high-frequency ultrasonic waves to disrupt cells, shear DNA, and homogenize or emulsify samples. Through cavitation, the probe generates intense localized energy that breaks cell membranes and fragments nucleic acids to defined sizes.
It is widely used for protein and nucleic acid extraction, chromatin shearing (e.g., for ChIP), nanoparticle dispersion, and general sample preparation.
