FMRC is an academic research institute of Tel-Aviv University.
FMRC is aimed to be an excellence center dedicated to conducting novel translational research in the field of biomedicine, to advance understanding of diseases and to develop improved treatment. FMRC is located in the heart of a tertiary leading clinical campus including Rabin Medical Center, Schneider Children's Medical Center and Geha Mental Health Center. The combination of a University research institute in the heart of an academic medical center is the winning formula for a Translational Medicine -Science Center, and is a unique opportunity for academic physicians/scientists.
Main topics of research fields in FMRC are cardiovascular diseases, hematology and oncology, endocrinology and diabetes, rheumatology, psychiatry and neurology, fertility, transplantation and immunology, hepatitis viruses, inflammatory bowel diseases, molecular dermatology, eye diseases and kidney diseases.
FMRC, as a translational excellence center is naturally a research center, but through interactions and direct affiliations with hospitals, the center has everyday opportunities to test ideas and approaches on clinical populations.
As FMRC is a TAU research institute located in a leading medical campus, this way MSc., PhD students and postdocs are able to perform research with combined instructors: hospital academic physicians and basic researchers. The center is dedicated to education and for providing hands-on exposure for physicians.
